Dome Tents
Self Check-in Instructions

Check out our compendium with lots of helpful information about your stay and all the best places to visit and eat!

Finding your tent

  • Cicada Luxury Camping address; 127 Jerrara Rd Jerrara
  • Cars are only allowed in the carpark.
  • If you have an electric vehicle you're welcome to use the EV charger. If not please leave these car spaces available.
  • Once parked, walk down past the small shed in the carpark, between the big tree stumps, and follow the sign to your Silver Knight OR Tiger Prince dome tent.
  • Feel free to use a luggage cart (found in the carpark); if you need to use more than one cart, please keep only one at your tent so there are carts for other guest.

NOTE: There is no 'check-in' office - Cicada is self check-in and self check-out. Please do not drive up the private driveway to the house.

Your tent

  • To open the tent door, press the flat round button above the handle once for one second. Pull the door all the way to latch open.
  • The deck light switch is above the kitchen bench.
  • The large deck bin is for recycling only. When needed, separate rubbish and recycling and take to the large bins in the carpark shed.
  • We’re on a septic system so please don't flush foreign objects.
  • The tap water is drinkable rain water.
  • Turn the AC off whenever you leave your tent.

The firepit

  • Fire starters are under the kitchen sink. The fire lighter is electric (uses a spark, not a flame).
  • Help yourself to firewood at the pile near the bins – you can use a pull cart.
  • IMPORTANT: make sure your campfire is extinguished when left unattended.

The hot tub

  • Allow about 40-50 minutes to fill, and about two hours to heat.
  • Make sure the valve is closed by turning the blue handle around the side of the deck – across the line is closed; parallel to the line is open.
  • Once at least half full, open the cover and drawer at the front. Use just a few fire starters and some kindling (very small pieces of wood), light it and close it up immediately so it doesn't burn the timber panels.
  • Feed more kindling via the shoot above and once burning well, you can start feeding small/medium pieces (don’t use large).
  • Feed it regularly early on, so it heats up as quickly as possible. It will also heat up more quickly with the hot tub cover on.
  • The shoot lid gets very hot, so be careful if you take it off. Don't put it on anything that can burn or melt.
  • IMPORTANT: Never leave the hot tub fire unattended.
  • To conserve water, don’t drain the tub for the duration of your stay. When needed, reheat the same water.

The chooks

  • Our chooks are very friendly – feel free to feed them your scraps, but keep an eye on your breaky!
  • Help yourself to eggs from the coop next to the Brood, just close the door behind you.
  • If they bother you, let me know and I’ll lock them in their coop.

A peaceful experience

  • Please be mindful of your neighbouring guests. Minimise noise, and if you're playing music, be mindful of the volume.
  • If someone is not being considerate, message me and I’ll get in touch with them.
